Q
Do you service my area?
AWe cover the Gold Coast & surrounds down to Byron Bay, out to Beaudesert and up to Brisbane. We also cover the Sunshine Coast. See our coverage map. We may also be able to service areas outside these boundaries on occasion. Contact us to find out if we are in your area.
Q
What are your payment options?
AYou can book and pay securely online using a credit card, or alternatively you can pay EFTPOS or cash at the time of your booking. All our vans are fitted with EFTPOS facilities.
Q
How quickly can you get to me?
AThis depends on your location and the service required, as well as the volume of bookings we have each day. However, generally we will get to you the same day, or within 1-2 days at the most. We can also arrange appointments outside our business hours for a small surcharge. Contact us to check when we could attend to your vehicle.
Q
What if my vehicle doesn’t pass first time around?
AIf for any reason your vehicle does not pass its inspection, we will give you a written report of what needs to be fixed and come back to you when you’re ready at no extra charge to complete the inspection (within our coverage area).
Q
Do I have to be there?
ANo you don’t have to be there (but we prefer if you are so we can show you what the problems are, if any), but payment must be processed prior to job.
Q
What do I need to provide?
AClear access to your vehicle/trailer, preferably on flat level ground so we can use jacks & stands & open doors etc. We also need to road test vehicles as part of a Safety Certificate Inspection so we need a clear path for this. If you have any paperwork containing pertinent information, please provide it at or before the inspection.
Q
Do I still have to pay if the car doesn’t pass the Safety Certificate Inspection?
AYes, the service being provided is for RWC inspection and report, not just a passed Roadworthy.
Q
Do I have to pay for a second Roadworthy inspection if it doesn’t pass the first RWC inspection?
ANo, provided your Safety Certificate re-inspection is booked in the time frame set by TMR/Qld Transport. (A fee maybe incurred if outside our normal travel distance).
Q
Does my Safety Certificate re inspection have to be carried out at the same address?
ANo, we understand that you may have to take the vehicle to your repairer, so we can finalise your RWC inspection there at no extra cost. (A fee maybe incurred if outside our normal travel distance).
Q
My vehicle runs on LPG, what special requirements do I need to satisfy TMR/Qld Transport?
AAs well as your Safety Certificate Inspection, you will also need a Qld Gas Fuel System inspection. We can organise this through our vast network of colleagues.
Q
My car is registered in NSW & I’m up on holiday & my registration is due, can you help?
AYes we can. NSW RMS will accept a Qld Safety Certificate under those circumstances but you must present it at their closest RMS or associated office as it is not electronic. We also have a vast network of A.I.S. colleagues in NSW so we can help you with an inspection across the border.
Q
Can you carry out RWC inspections on trucks?
AYes – up to 16 tonnes.
Q
Can you carry out a Roadworthy inspection on my caravan?
AYes – we can carry out a Safety Certificate Inspection on your caravan.
Q
TMR/Qld Transport said I need to take my caravan to them after I get my Roadworthy inspection because it’s unregistered, why?
AAs part of TMR/ Qld Transport regulation if a trailer/caravan is unregistered for a period greater than 3 months, as well as a Safety Certificate Inspection, it also requires a HVRAS inspection. We are authorised to carry out HVRAS inspections so you don’t need to take it to TMR/Qld Transport.
Q
What is a HVRAS inspection?
AHVRAS stands for Heavy Vehicle Registration Authorisation Scheme. The HVRAS inspection entails measuring the trailer/caravan in a certain way as well as other checks to make sure it still meets the Federal government guidelines for trailer/caravan construction.
Q
What about my caravan gas system? Can you help with that?
AYes – TMR/Qld Transport also require a Qld Gas Inspection Certificate along with a trailer Safety Certificate. We can organise this inspection as well, through our vast network of colleagues.
Q
I may need a Mod Plate inspection, can you help?
AYes – we carry out Modification Plate inspections for most codes. And for the codes we don’t, we can certainly organise a Modification Plate inspection, including imported vehicles.
Q
Can you do a Roadworthy on my motorcycle?
AYes – we can carry out Safety Certificate Inspections on all bikes.
